The hectic lifestyle of this small but busy family, has settled easily into this simplistic and rustic sunlit kitchen design.

The spine of the kitchen was once the exterior wall of the original weatherboard cottage. It now acts as a splashback and a connection between the past and the present history of this farmhouse.

The oversized island bench 4300mm by 1200mm, provides a multi-functional space, where food prepping and family/friends can gather at the same time. The vast concrete benchtop has been cut back to expose the aggregate and character of the slab, which works brilliantly with the smooth touch of Laminex AbsoluteMatte Black, used for cabinetry.

The concrete look ceramic floor tiles were introduced to create a kitchen zone, while the timber shelving, handles and stools provide the warm element and connect with the timber flooring surrounding the Kitchen.
